A novel heat dissipation technology to improve the efficiency of lithium battery energy storage packs

This study uses the one-way direction characteristics of the vapor chamber to propose a novel battery pack heat dissipation technology. It is a reference for the industry in designing battery pack heat dissipation structures. The results show that both traditional and novel-design battery packs will have temperature rises with charging and discharging, and the temperature rise during charging will be greater than during discharging. The highest temperature occurs during the charging process when the power is about 86-87%; the sub-high temperature is when the power is about 45-46% during the discharge process. The experiment result shows that the temperature rise of traditional single-shell battery packs is much greater than that of battery packs with novel heat dissipation devices. When the ambient temperature is 60 ℃, the battery pack with the novel heat dissipation device still operates normally. Still, the traditional single-shell battery core cannot charge due to excessive temperature.
