Investigation Regarding Heat Transfer Characteristics of Brushless DC Motors
In recent years, electrification of various equipments is in progress. Under this situation, thermal design of electric motor is becoming more important than ever. In this paper, heat transfer characteristics of a brushless DC (Direct Current) motor are discussed. Heat transfer characteristics of brushless DC motor is visualized as a thermal impedance distribution, which is identified from transient temperature measurement. After that, its heat transfer characteristics are discussed by comparing transient temperature with different copper loss.
