Performance Evaluation and the Flow Field of Two-Stage Centrifugal Compressors Using CFD – Comparative Study of Separate and Simultaneous Analysis Methods
This study investigates the aspects of compressor performance in two-stage compression, with a particular emphasis on environmentally sustainable refrigerants. Utilizing simulations, this research examines the differences in efficiency and pressure ratio between separate and simultaneous two-stage compression. The simulation performance data of the consolidated results indicate that the two-stage pressure flow component designed in this study meets the requirements for a 525 kW two-stage compression model using R-134a refrigerant. Future efforts will focus on environmental refrigerants such as R-1234ze(E), to elucidate their performance and cost-effectiveness in centrifugal compressors, thereby contributing to the advancement of new HFO refrigerant applications.
